Our take on Chronostation
The page discusses an MMO version but later says it will not happen. The described playable scope is a single space station facing 100 waves, with mining, construction, research, and a time-anomaly reset mechanic.
What is Chronostation?
Command a space station trapped in an unknown time and place after an accident involving parts of an ancient alien ship.
Mine nearby asteroids for crystals containing chroniton particles, which are needed to try to return home. As alien ships attack, build defensive towers, an energy grid, and other space structures. Research can raise the quality of those structures and support the station’s defense.
Enemies arrive in 100 waves and include different ship types. When the station appears to be destroyed, the time anomaly sends it elsewhere instead; some mined resources remain and are converted into research resources through chroniton particles. The game combines tower defense with real-time strategy and includes adaptive music composed by Marek Hradil, also known as Mad Maverick.
How Chronostation plays
- 01Wave-based defense
- The station faces 100 waves of alien ships, which come in different types.
- 02Buildable defenses
- Defensive options include towers, an energy grid, and other space structures.
- 03Research upgrades
- Research can raise the quality of space structures and uses resources retained after the station is displaced by the anomaly.
- 04Adaptive soundtrack
- The music changes adaptively and was composed by Marek Hradil, known as Mad Maverick.
