Our take on Engineered To Purpose
Instead of treating tower defence units as fixed tools, the game makes their construction part of the strategy. Components, attack modifiers, and targeting choices become the objects of experimentation, with tower changes possible during missions or in a testing workshop.
What is Engineered To Purpose?
Engineered To Purpose is a work-in-progress sci-fi tower defence game with a story-driven campaign.
Players create towers by combining components and assigning attack modifiers, including targeting choices. Towers can be adjusted during a level when space allows or between missions in a workshop. The workshop allows testing against previously encountered enemies while displaying the effects of design choices. The current demo includes the first campaign chapter, tower construction, enemy encounters, and workshop testing. The vendor lists two additional worlds, more components, enemy types, maps, gameplay modifiers, post-campaign advancement, and additional replay modes as planned content. The setting explores posthumanism, family, and change in a far-future world.
How Engineered To Purpose plays
- 01Custom Tower Construction
- Combine available components and apply attack modifiers to create different tower effects and targeting behaviors.
- 02Mid-Level Adjustments
- Tower designs can be changed during missions when there is enough room to work.
- 03Workshop Testing
- The workshop provides tests against encountered enemy types and shows design effects in real time.
- 04Story-Driven Campaign
- The current demo contains the opening chapter of a far-future narrative about posthumanism, family, and change.
