Our take on Chesster
The chess framing may suggest a conventional chess game, but the main objective is arranging matching pieces for points. Movement follows chess patterns, while turns, cascades, combos, and level progression define the actual structure.
What is Chesster?
Chesster combines chess movement with match-three board play.
Players move three pieces per turn on a board filled with chess pieces, creating matching rows or columns to score points. A piece captures the one in its destination square, removing it from the board. At the end of each turn, scoring and cascades occur as pieces drop into the open spaces. Planning several moves ahead allows players to set up combinations as new pieces fall. Progression takes place through a medieval estate and includes three level types: game, puzzle, and challenge.
How Chesster plays
- 01Chess-Based Movement
- Each piece follows its chess movement pattern and captures a piece occupying its destination.
- 02Three Moves Per Turn
- Players choose three piece movements before scoring and board reactions take place.
- 03Match-Three Scoring
- Matching pieces in horizontal or vertical lines produces points and can trigger cascades.
- 04Three Level Types
- Progression includes game, puzzle, and challenge stages across a medieval estate.
