Our take on Chef's Tail
Rather than centering an adventure on combat or travel, the game places a cat chef in charge of gardening, fishing, recipe learning, and customer service. Its underworld setting frames ordinary cooking tasks with ghosts, seasonal plant care, and a choice to spend long stretches sleeping.
What is Chef's Tail?
Play as a cat chef serving mortal food to traveling souls in a spooky underworld.
Grow and revive trees through seasonal life cycles to gather ingredients, or fish in the River Styx by selecting the time, bait, and weather conditions. Use cooking utensils to prepare dishes for ghostly customers, persuade them to buy, and guard finished products from thieves. Expanding the ingredient collection reveals additional recipes. Different groups of ghosts prefer particular foods, such as salmon or honey-based dishes, so recipe knowledge affects preparation for incoming customers. The game also includes a pillow for sleeping, letting the cat spend up to 16 hours a day resting instead of working.
