Our take on Chacara
The open map and multiple endings give exploration and choices room to shape a short horror run. That compact scope also limits the time available for the house’s story and its pursuit to develop.
What is Chacara?
After running out of gas on the way to his parents’ home in the Brazilian Amazon, a young man enters a nearby country house to ask for help.
He finds clues about the family who lived there and is pursued by the house’s owner, a former military man. Set in the early 90s, Chacara is a horror game with thriller and slasher elements, presented with retro PS1/PSX-style graphics. Players can explore a large map along a non-linear route, and their skill and choices affect which of the 4 endings they reach.
The game includes interactive surroundings, atmospheric video and sound effects, and story details partly based on real events. The vendor gives an estimated playtime of 1–3 hours, depending on pace and skill. Controller support includes Xbox and PlayStation controllers.
