Our take on Red Valley
Rather than centering horror on helplessness, Red Valley combines investigation with first-person shooting and gives the player plenty of ammunition. Its short, exploration-led structure also replaces the longer campaign format common in many horror games.
What is Red Valley?
Red Valley is a brief first-person horror game set in a ruined, deserted city.
Following a road accident, Lisa vanishes while Sam is transported elsewhere. Players lead Sam across the city, investigate strange events, pursue the truth, and confront unusual monsters. Exploration is paired with rapid first-person shooting. Visuals use a PSX-inspired style drawn from early PlayStation titles, while the monster concepts and audio take cues from classic horror. The narrative builds toward a surprising conclusion. A typical session lasts around 1 hour, though exploration choices affect the total time. Mouse and keyboard are the available controls.
