We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Horror players who want a short, story-led first-person investigation
- Puzzle fans who prefer exploration mixed with enemy encounters
- Players seeking a compact campaign with approximately 2 hours of core gameplay
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long campaign or extensive replay structure may find the approximately 2-hour core experience limited
- Players who prefer uninterrupted puzzle solving may not enjoy the combat, bosses, and jump scares
- Players looking for a non-horror adventure may find the ghosts and paranormal setting unsuitable
Our take on Loss
The short runtime keeps the investigation focused, but it also limits the space for deeper exploration, extended puzzle chains, or a larger story arc. Combat interrupts the slower investigation sections, creating variety at the cost of a consistently puzzle-led pace.
What is Loss?
Loss is a first-person horror adventure about a teenage boy who wakes to find his family missing.
The game combines house exploration, item collection, locked doors, hidden notes, puzzles, and combat with paranormal enemies. A flashlight can be aimed at certain ghosts for several seconds to defeat them, while multiple weapons and enemy types provide combat variety. The investigation extends to an outdoor area and includes three bosses, more than 10 puzzles, several gameplay situations, and jump scares. Hidden notes reveal parts of the family's story. Core playtime is approximately 2 hours, with the experience focused on structured story progression rather than walking simulation.
