Our take on Cascade Tactics
Rather than treating abilities as immediate commands, battles give opponents time to respond before many actions resolve. That timing supports interruption, repositioning, protection, and redirected targets, while dual-class pairings add another layer beyond standard class selection.
What is Cascade Tactics?
Cascade Tactics is a tactical RPG centered on building and directing a customizable squad.
Recruit characters, assign classes, improve equipment, and progress through a 40-mission story. Battles feature delayed actions that opponents can interrupt by damaging the caster, moving units, pushing them, teleporting them, or shielding targets. Channeled status effects can also be stopped by attacking their source. More than 25 classes support dual-class combinations with special interactions, such as freezing enemies through weapon attacks or placing area effects as traps. Epic, Roguelite, and Survival modes provide different structures. Missions vary through battlefield bonuses, reinforcements, bosses, and allied AI units. Auto-battle can handle fights, while a dice minigame provides another activity.
How Cascade Tactics plays
- 01Dual-class combinations
- Pairing two classes creates specialized interactions, including weapon attacks that freeze targets and area effects triggered by enemy movement.
- 02Interruptible actions
- Attacks and other abilities can take time to resolve, giving opposing units opportunities to disrupt them.
- 03Three game modes
- Epic, Roguelite, and Survival modes offer story-focused, competitive, and higher-challenge formats.
- 04Varied mission elements
- Missions can include battlefield bonuses, late enemy arrivals, bosses with special abilities, and allied AI units.
- 05Post-story content
- After the story, special mission sequences unlock and the campaign can be replayed at increased difficulty.
- 06Auto-battle option
- AI can control battles when manual tactical decisions are not required.
- 07Dice reward activity
- Players can buy, equip, and roll dice to receive rewards.
