Our take on Boundless Paths
Life serves as both a spell resource and a buffer against sudden failure: stockpiling it allows continued learning from monster leaks while larger sacrifices power defensive magic.
What is Boundless Paths?
Boundless Paths combines exploration with tower defense and roguelite progression.
Each day, exploration changes monster routes, opens more tower placement choices, provides resources, and uncovers beneficial encounters. Tower selection and upgrades must match each situation, while nightly waves are resisted with spells fueled by Life sacrifices. Life can be accumulated, allowing continued learning from leaks without an unexpected game over. The campaign ends when all 6 forts are destroyed, but elite fort defenders can strike back at towers. Quests and achievements unlock classes, additional features, and bonuses. Procedurally generated maps and paths, along with these unlocks, create repeated runs with changing layouts and defenses.
How Boundless Paths plays
- 01Procedural Map Changes
- Generated layouts and routes alter exploration and defense decisions between runs.
- 02Life Resource System
- Life fuels spells and can be saved to learn from monster leaks without triggering an unexpected game over.
- 03Fort Conquest
- The objective is to destroy 6 forts before increasingly strong monster waves overwhelm the defenses.
- 04Elite Counterattacks
- Fort elites can attack towers, unlike regular monsters.
- 05Quest Unlocks
- Quests and achievements provide access to classes, features, and bonuses.
