Our take on BounceShot
The ricochet-only weapon design gives each encounter a puzzle structure, but it limits direct shooting options. Timers and style scoring add replay value for players refining routes and techniques, while making the experience less suited to unhurried exploration.
What is BounceShot?
BounceShot is an action-puzzle first-person shooter built around ricocheting projectiles.
Each shot must strike a surface before reaching its target, requiring positioning of both the character and weapon. Levels contain a switch to activate and droids to neutralize, with bounce paths reaching around corners or up to ceilings. Every stage is timed, and reaching the exit portal quickly contributes to the score. Movement is also part of the challenge, with platforming sections between shots and targets. Speed and style affect scoring, including techniques such as using a melee attack to reflect a player’s own projectile. Medals and bonus points reward these techniques, giving the game a performance-focused structure.
How BounceShot plays
- 01Ricochet Shooting
- Projectiles must rebound from surfaces before they can hit switches or droids.
- 02Timed Levels
- Stages include an exit portal, with completion speed contributing to the score.
- 03Platforming Challenges
- Movement and jumping are tested alongside aiming and puzzle solving.
- 04Style Scoring
- Melee-reflected shots and other techniques can produce bonus points and medals.
