Our take on Boogeyman
Rather than presenting horror as a linear chase or combat campaign, the game centers each session on surviving until morning. Its main tension comes from observing hiding places, rationing flashlight power, and interpreting sounds while weather and household lights alter the information available.
What is Boogeyman?
Boogeyman is a survival-horror game about staying alive through the dark hours until dawn.
A flashlight can drive the creature away, while learning its hiding spots and listening for its movements helps track its presence. The house contains useful supplies, including light-emitting markers, small explosives, and coffee. Room lights can stop working, and flashlight power diminishes over time, forcing a choice between saving batteries and looking beneath the bed for replacements. Nightly weather changes affect visibility and sound: rain conceals noises, lightning provides brief illumination, and snowstorms make hearing difficult. Toys can animate, with additional disturbances occurring after dark. Full VR runs at 90fps with Oculus Rift CV1 and a minimum GTX 970.
