Our take on Beacon Pines
Its defining structure is The Chronicle, a story tree where discoveries on one branch provide charms that can change events on another.
What is Beacon Pines?
Beacon Pines is an adventure set inside a mysterious book, where Luka is both the protagonist and the reader guiding his story.
Investigating strange events at an old warehouse leads Luka and his friends through hidden truths, new relationships, and multiple possible outcomes. During the investigation, players collect golden charms engraved with individual words. At specific moments, a charm can fill a missing word and send the narrative in a different direction. The Chronicle presents these developments as a growing story tree, allowing players to revisit earlier events, use newly discovered charms on other branches, and move between contrasting versions of the story while piecing together Beacon Pines' mysteries.
How Beacon Pines plays
- 01Branching story tree
- The Chronicle records different narrative paths and lets players return to earlier turning points.
- 02Word-based charms
- Golden charms carry engraved words that can replace blanks at key moments and alter subsequent events.
- 03Dual player role
- Luka functions as both the character experiencing the events and the reader directing the book.
