Our take on Ardarium
The store presentation emphasizes a colorful, watchable world, while the simulation also includes war, disease, environmental change, and animal evolution. The experience centers on observing or lightly influencing ongoing events rather than following a structured progression.
What is Ardarium?
Ardarium creates a random 2D map populated by plants, animals, and humans.
The simulation runs continuously: animals seek food, avoid danger, and reproduce, while humans also build nations, wage wars, and cultivate land. Erosion, tectonic uplift, volcanoes, and meteors reshape terrain. Changes in elevation can shift coastlines and affect weather, while changing rainfall can turn forests into deserts. Settlements may grow with abundant food or decline due to disease, and animal traits shift across generations according to survival and reproduction. Players can spawn animals or trigger meteor showers, but the simulation also performs those actions automatically. The world can be watched passively or played as a simple sandbox.
How Ardarium plays
- 01Changing terrain
