Our take on You Are God
The premise emphasizes guiding a civilization toward space, but the described role remains indirect: weather and religious influence shape events without granting control over the inhabitants.
What is You Are God?
You influence conditions on a single planet by adjusting sunlight and rain, while its plants, animals, and people develop independently.
Weather can support life or cause harm, depending on its strength. If life develops, it may progress from plants to animals and then to sentient societies. The game describes three continents, each with rules shaped by the beliefs of its inhabitants. People may worship you, follow another god, fight over religious differences, unite, or develop technology. As technology advances, they may explore space, colonize the moon, research other planets, and leave their home world. The player can also use religious influence to keep them on the planet, but cannot directly control the choices of its inhabitants.
How You Are God plays
- 01Weather control
- Sunlight and rain affect conditions for life, while storms can frighten inhabitants or kill living things.
- 02Independent societies
- Three continents form their own rules around the religions created and observed by their populations.
- 03Space exploration
- Advancing technology can lead societies to explore space, settle the moon, research other planets, and leave their home world.
