Is Arabel worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Adventure players who want a focused journey through a dark fantasy setting
- Players who prefer environmental mechanisms alongside exploration
- Action players who enjoy studying enemies before attacking
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad open-world adventure may find the fixed route restrictive
- Players looking for varied combat systems may find encounters centered on one shell-targeting tactic repetitive
- Players wanting cooperative or multiplayer play are outside the game's single-knight structure
Our take on Arabel
The focused route and shell-targeting encounters give the game a clear structure, but they leave less room for open-ended exploration and combat variety. Its compact design centers the experience on reaching the exit rather than supporting a wide range of play styles.
What is Arabel?
Arabel is a 3D adventure game about a knight who becomes lost in the Abyss and seeks a way out.
Progress follows a set route through dark landscapes and ruined areas, where gates block the path. Opening them requires activating dormant mechanisms embedded in the roots. The game also includes combat against the Abyss’s guardians. Their shells must be observed and shot to weaken them before they can be defeated, making targeted attacks part of the encounters rather than relying only on direct force. Exploration, environmental interaction, and guardian battles form the main structure of the journey through the strange, distorted setting.
How Arabel plays
- 01Abyss exploration
- The journey passes through dark terrain and old ruins while the knight searches for an exit.
- 02Mechanism activation
- Dormant devices in the roots must be triggered to open blocked gates.
- 03Targeted combat
- Guardians are weakened by shooting their protective shells before they can be defeated.
Arabel compared to similar games
Jusant combines climbing tools, stamina management, multiple routes, and environmental discovery during a tower ascent, while Arabel centers on opening gates and weakening guardians in a fixed path through the Abyss. Arabel therefore places more emphasis on targeted combat, whereas Jusant focuses on climbing and exploration.
