Our take on Acanthoceras
Its focus on movement and escape leaves less room for slower investigation or extensive combat systems. The short format centers the experience on searching and running through one nightmare setting rather than a broader adventure.
What is Acanthoceras?
Acanthoceras is a short horror and parkour game set in an abandoned hospital.
Players move through the ruins, search for keys, and use papers scattered on the floor to figure out what is happening. Monsters chase the player, and the game centers on repeating a cycle of fear, searching, and running in an effort to escape. Movement includes running, jumping, sliding, crawling, dashing, flipping, and wall-running. Controls use WASD or ZQSD to move, Space to jump, C or Ctrl to slide or crawl, Shift to dash, and E to interact. The jump can be charged. The game is set within a nightmare and includes the option to fight back against pursuing monsters. A resolution of 1920 × 1080 is recommended.
