Our take on Anoxemia
The game’s focus on hazardous exploration makes oxygen management and navigation central, rather than offering a relaxed underwater tour. Its stated difficulty may also narrow its appeal to players who prefer forgiving puzzle challenges.
What is Anoxemia?
Anoxemia is a story-driven underwater exploration game featuring scientist Dr.
Bailey and the operations drone ATMA. After a submarine crash cuts off communication, Bailey must move through ocean-floor caves to collect samples while oxygen runs low. Across 38 levels, hazards include poison drifts, strong currents, mines, and malfunctioning machines. Players search for items and upgrades that give ATMA tools to guide them, and solve puzzles that call for quick reflexes and careful thought. A voiced narrative reveals Bailey’s thoughts as the story unfolds. The game combines exploration with sci-fi horror and presents dangers in the environment as well as threats that emerge from within. Its own description notes that the game is hard.
