- Players wanting broad exploration or multiple gameplay genres may find the forest journey narrowly focused on puzzle solving.
Our take on Altero
The bounce point arrives when puzzles require a planned sequence of actions and a precisely timed sacrifice. Players must coordinate Adi with the ghost of earlier movements, so improvising one character at a time will not carry them through those obstacles.
What is Altero?
Altero is an atmospheric puzzle platformer set in the dark Sorrow Forest.
Players control Adi, a voodoo doll, and a ghost that represents earlier actions. Progress depends on arranging sequences of movements with precise timing, sometimes sacrificing the doll to overcome obstacles while the ghost continues as a second character. The journey includes rescuing lost souls and pursuing optional puzzles described as especially difficult. The game combines Life and Death in its puzzle structure and presents a visual and musical atmosphere centered on the forest. Additional progression includes Steam achievements, along with collectible cards and badges. The story follows Adi, whose spirit is trapped in the doll and seeks a path toward peace.
