Is Alien Battlefield worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want both real-time base development and chess-like unit placement
- Solo players who prefer computer opponents over online competition
- Tactical players who enjoy managing more than 20 unit types and their abilities
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a single, clearly defined strategy format rather than two distinct modes
- Players who prefer direct control of every unit throughout a battle, since chess mode restricts control to abilities after deployment
- Players looking for a broad campaign structure rather than focused dueling matches
Our take on Alien Battlefield
Rather than following one conventional strategy format, the game places real-time resource and building management beside a chess-inspired structure. Its second mode removes direct unit control during combat, making deployment and ability timing the central decisions.
What is Alien Battlefield?
Alien Battlefield combines real-time strategy with a chess-style mode in 2D dueling battles.
In real-time matches, players gather resources, upgrade buildings and units, select development branches, and deploy forces while trying to destroy the opposing main tower. More than 20 distinct units have different abilities. Chess mode divides each match into preparation and battle phases: players place a limited number of units, then control their abilities while the units fight automatically. Destroyed units cannot return in later rounds, and victory comes from eliminating the opposing force. Matches can be played against the computer or online opponents.
How Alien Battlefield plays
- 01Two Battle Modes
- Matches use either resource-driven real-time strategy or a round-based format with deployment followed by automated combat.
- 02Unit Development
- More than 20 unit types can be created and improved, with building upgrades opening additional unit choices.
- 03Resource Management
- Real-time matches require collecting resources while developing structures and forces.
- 04Online Duels
- Battles support competition against computer-controlled opponents or other players online.
- 05Persistent Chess Losses
- A unit destroyed during one chess-mode round is unavailable in subsequent rounds.
