Our take on Alan Sharp
The emphasis on investigation and psychological horror leaves less room for action-focused play. Progress centers on examining objects, solving puzzles, conversations, and hiding from danger, while usable items are limited to a restricted amount.
What is Alan Sharp?
Alan Sharp is a detective mystery and psychological horror game centered on a murder investigation in Beggers Hole.
The prologue follows Sam Whithers, a young detective and former assistant to Alan Sharp, through events before Alan arrives at the crime scene. Players later take the role of Alan, a retired private detective drawn into a case involving a murdered boy, missing parents, rumors of madness, and strange occurrences at the Regan family home. Gameplay combines exploration, searching objects for clues, conversations with the town’s folk, puzzles, journal entries, and limited storage for usable objects in a briefcase.
As danger follows, players may need to find a place to hide. Areas to explore include streets, a forest, a beach, and mysterious corridors.
