Our take on ALaLa: Wake Mi Up!
Rather than centering a solo VR player, the game assigns that player the opposing Tapir role while up to three joystick users form ALaLa's family. Its structure turns VR into an asymmetric party position within a hide-and-seek scenario.
What is ALaLa: Wake Mi Up!?
ALaLa: Wake Mi Up!
is a VR party game for up to four participants: one uses VR controls as the Tapir, while three others use joysticks as members of ALaLa's family. Set in a hide-and-seek dream, the game asks players to protect ALaLa while resisting the Tapir's attacks and attempts to put them to sleep. It includes three modes: Kill Tapir, Wake ALaLa, and Dream Bomb. The VR player selects a mode with the right-hand controller trackpad and begins play by holding the trigger. This is the first episode in the ALaLa series, with a story involving a sleepy cat, her dream-bound family, and a Tapir turning dreams into nightmares.
