Our take on AIRHEART - Tales of broken Wings
Its defining mechanic is the harpoon, which serves as a weapon, retrieval tool, and means of manipulating enemies rather than merely dealing damage.
What is AIRHEART - Tales of broken Wings?
Airheart is a dieselpunk airplane action roguelike set in Granaria, a city in the clouds.
Pilot Amelia through sky layers stacked above one another, using free-roaming twin-stick controls to fight pirates, hunt flying fish, and search for loot. Enemy wreckage can be collected and used in a workshop to make aircraft parts and weapons, with more than 40 items to discover and combine. A harpoon can capture fish, disarm or drag enemies, fling them into hazards, and bring targets home for dismantling. Launch bases provide access to higher layers, where seasons, creatures, secrets, and bosses—including a zeppelin and mechanical snake—shape the climb toward the stratosphere.
How AIRHEART - Tales of broken Wings plays
- 01Layered Sky Exploration
- Each new area sits above the previous one, creating a vertical route from Granaria toward the stratosphere.
- 02Aircraft Workshop
- Salvaged enemy scrap becomes parts and weapons that can be fitted to the plane.
- 03Harpoon Interactions
- The harpoon can retrieve fish, remove enemy equipment, pull targets, and throw them into rocks.
- 04Changing Ecosystems
- New species appear in the sky layers as play continues, reflecting changes caused by overfishing.
- 05Boss Encounters
- Large enemies such as a zeppelin and mechanical snake block progress through the higher regions.
