- Players looking for an economy system available now may find its gradual major-update rollout limiting.
Our take on Age of Reforging: The Freelands
The description gives the economy a prominent role, but says that system will arrive gradually through major updates. That leaves the current scope of the economy unclear compared with the already described exploration, combat, and management activities.
What is Age of Reforging: The Freelands?
Age of Reforging: The Freelands is a medieval sandbox CRPG built around exploration, survival, and party combat.
Travel through eight ecological zones, nine towns, and 30 wilderness locations, while taking on side quests and exploring dungeons and ruins. Hunger and fatigue affect the party, and combat lets players pause time to issue orders or use a tactical AI trigger and editor. Character origins, attributes, traits, and more than 200 combat skills and 100 magic skills shape each playthrough.
Players can recruit companions, assemble a caravan, and occupy and manage castles. The game currently lists 2,500 items and equipment, more than 200 monsters, over 700 named NPCs, and 150 handcrafted side quests. Its economy system is planned to arrive gradually through major updates.
