SimulationIs AENTITY worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players interested in open-ended visual composition without a fixed objective
- Artists who want a game centered on color, mood, and imagery
- Players seeking a peaceful experience without time pressure or character death
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for a structured campaign with clearly defined objectives may find the aim-free format lacking direction
- Players seeking combat, failure states, or high-pressure challenge may find the experience too gentle
- Players who want a conventional puzzle, management, or role-playing progression may not find the non-linear framework suitable
Our take on AENTITY
Its focus on freeform visual composition gives up conventional progression: there is no time limit, character danger, or single route to follow. That leaves the experience dependent on personal experimentation rather than a sequence of clearly defined challenges or rewards.
What is AENTITY?
AENTITY is a visual playscape built around creating images in a calm, dreamlike setting.
Movement, viewing angle, and hue determine the colors and composition, while exploration reveals increasingly cryptic entities and screens that can be destroyed. There is no time limit, and the player cannot be hurt or die. The structure is non-linear and semi-linear rather than goal-driven, with no single prescribed way to succeed. Each session changes slightly, so players cannot create exactly the same picture twice. An accompanying website displays 36 highly upvoted player images and additional randomly selected shots with their creators’ names. The game also frames visual composition as a skill that may be used outside the game.
How AENTITY plays

- 04Player image gallery
- A companion website shows 36 highly upvoted shots plus randomly selected images and their authors’ names.
- 05No danger state
- There is no time limit, and the player cannot be injured or killed.
