Our take on Trenches - World War 1 Horror Survival Game
The clearest sticking point is the single-save rule: one death ends the current run, so mistakes during clue searches can erase that attempt. The whistle creates another pressure point because its guidance can alert enemies to the player’s position.
What is Trenches - World War 1 Horror Survival Game?
Set in 1917, this first-person psychological horror game follows James R.
, a soldier trapped behind enemy lines who must collect clues and escape the trenches. The trench whistle can guide him toward clues, but enemies may hear it. Wooden footsteps, broken bottles, breathing, and running can also reveal his position, so players can crouch, hide in trench passages or under beds, and throw objects to distract enemies. Enemies can mimic familiar sounds, while the environment may change with the soldier’s sanity.
Clue locations are randomized between playthroughs. The game uses one save, and death ends the run. It is in Early Access and is being developed by one developer. The vendor warns that it contains disturbing images and sounds, jump scares, fear-related content, and intense horror.
