Our take on ADIOS Amigos: Galactic Explorers
Players may bounce off when fuel-efficient navigation and orbital mechanics become central to keeping the ship operational. Those expecting conventional space combat will also hit a wall at the no-weapons structure, while less experienced players may need Rookie mode for the controls.
What is ADIOS Amigos: Galactic Explorers?
Explore procedurally generated solar systems containing planets, stations, aliens, and artifacts.
Pilot a ship through orbital routes while managing fuel, then leave the vessel to investigate locations on foot. The simulation models gravity, temperature, atmosphere, air resistance, planetary rotation, and day-night cycles, allowing actions in one place to affect events elsewhere. Play four campaigns alone or in local cooperative multiplayer for 1–4 players with dynamic split screen. Microgravity applies in open space, asteroid fields, and stations. Rookie mode simplifies controls and limits obviously dangerous actions for mixed-skill groups. There are no weapons or intentional killing, though accidents can occur.
How ADIOS Amigos: Galactic Explorers plays
- 01Procedural Solar Systems
- Each playthrough generates its own arrangement of planets, stations, aliens, and artifacts.
- 02Simulated Space Physics
- Gravity, temperature, atmosphere, air resistance, and planetary rotation can affect events throughout a solar system.
- 03Local Cooperative Play
- One to four players can share four campaigns using a dynamic split-screen view.
- 04On-Foot Exploration
- Players can leave the ship to investigate planets, asteroid fields, and space stations.
- 05Rookie Mode
- A simplified mode supports groups with different skill levels by easing controls and preventing obviously dangerous actions.
