Our take on A Rite from the Stars
The defining structure is a rite divided into three distinct paths—Wisdom, Courage, and Spirit—that can be completed in any order, with each path bringing its own mechanics, characters, and story.
What is A Rite from the Stars?
On Kaikala, Kirm—a boy who cannot speak—faces a coming-of-age trial in this 3D point-and-click adventure.
The journey includes puzzles, traps, old devices, and other trials in tropical wilderness, underground passages, volcanic terrain, a temple shrouded in mystery, and a different reality. The three routes of Wisdom, Courage, and Spirit each bring their own cast, narrative, and gameplay, and players may tackle them in any sequence. Kirm can join forces with Mirk, a playable Power Meerkat, while Hoku acts as his guiding star. Decisions shape which of six endings follows. Spoken dialogue uses the game’s invented Makoan language, with subtitles available in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
