Our take on Whateverland
Rather than following a fixed chapter order, the adventure lets players leave an active chapter and pursue another. Its moral structure also replaces a single solution with paired routes based on stealing or helping, while choices affect relationships and endings.
What is Whateverland?
Whateverland is a hand-painted point-and-click adventure set in a magical prison world.
Vincent, a thief, works with the ghost Nick to find a way out after being trapped there by a witch. Chapters can be played in different orders, and a chapter can be abandoned to pursue another. Each level offers at least two approaches: stealing from people or helping them. Dialogue choices affect relationships with the locals and Nick, while actions influence the story's endings. The game includes 19 mini-games, including lock challenges, tattooing a merman, and preparing ramen. It also contains a turn-based board game with a magical theme.
