Our take on 20 Minute Metropolis - The Action City Builder
The twenty-minute structure keeps the focus on rapid planning, but it leaves little room for slow experimentation. Transport capacity, waste, energy, and forest clearing compete for attention, so the game trades extended city development for a compact rebuilding challenge.
What is 20 Minute Metropolis - The Action City Builder?
Rebuild civilization under a twenty-minute timer by placing farms, apartments, trails, landfills, water turbines, energy transmitters, and parks.
Farms produce food, while apartments turn food into work and create waste that must be handled with landfills. Trails move food and work between buildings but have carrying limits, making layout planning part of the challenge. Forests can be cleared to reach old skyscrapers, which provide metals and plastics for construction. Expansion requires finding additional forests while managing deforestation. Parks provide points, and the session ends when the timer runs out. The objective is to establish infrastructure, supply lines, housing, waste processing, energy production, recycling, and enough high-rises within twenty minutes.
