Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike fans who want to build a new army from recruited units
- Strategy players who enjoy finding synergies between unusual fighters
- Players who prefer turn-based battles where troop composition matters more than placement
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want direct control over unit positioning during battles may hit a wall when 25 troops deploy randomly.
- Players who prefer hands-on combat may find the autobattling format limiting once the army is assembled.
- Players seeking a focused roster may find the many unusual recruit types distracting.
Our take on Million Monster Militia
The likely bounce point is the battlefield deployment: 25 troops are placed randomly, with no control over where they go. Players who want to position units themselves will run into that limit as soon as a fight begins.
What is Million Monster Militia?
Million Monster Militia is a roguelike autobattling deckbuilder about assembling troops to fight giant bosses across 50 cities.
Recruit fighters with different roles and abilities, then build a militia around combinations that create synergies. Battles are turn-based, and 25 troops deploy randomly on the battlefield, so there is no control over their placement. The game’s roster ranges from civilians, soldiers and priests to robots, whales, tax accountants and radioactive waste. Troops can also transform: a Succubus can turn citizens into Vampires, while a Tactical Nuke can concentrate attacks into one blast and leave Radioactive Waste. The campaign starts with civilians and soldiers and sends the militia across the country to free cities from boss control.
