Up to four players can compete, and the first to occupy every city unifies the realm. Battles offer duels, field engagements, and sieges. City management includes buildings with distinct effects: markets raise tax income, moats strengthen defenses, granaries increase population growth, training grounds prepare soldiers, barracks recruit troops, and academies raise the intelligence of stationed generals.
Schemes can delay an opposing leader, direct an opponent to a chosen location, damage a city building, or recruit an enemy general. They can be bought at the strategy shop or obtained through random events. Other locations include a casino, a gathering hall, a clinic, and a scripture hall where generals can increase their intelligence.
