Our take on 九州:立志
The open-ended structure trades scripted storytelling for player-directed development. Family, commerce, combat, crafting, exploration, and settlement work all share attention, so the experience favors broad progression over a single tightly focused activity.
What is 九州:立志?
Set in ancient China, this open-ended simulation RPG lets players choose between commerce and martial pursuits.
Travel across more than 70 cities whose industries, demand, and economies change over time. Trade goods, run stalls and shops, recruit companions, establish a family, acquire businesses, and manage industries or settlements. Martial characters can accept city commissions, explore caves and ruins, gather resources, learn techniques, enter tournaments, and fight bandits, beasts, and bosses. Crafting includes weapons, armor, food, and medicine. Relationships can lead to marriage and children, while family progress can pass to descendants or close companions. The game has no story content and includes Steam Workshop support.
