Our take on Yukinas Diary
The diary format places the narrative at the center, but it also makes the game’s identity depend heavily on following Yukina’s written account and companion-focused story rather than on a clearly described range of gameplay systems.
What is Yukinas Diary?
Yukina’s Diary is an RPG told through the heroine’s diary, following her return to a castle as her world collapses.
She chooses to continue while facing doubt, survival, and the search for hope. Her companions include a knight who retreats into taverns to cope with sorrow and an elf raised to avoid humans while trying to judge them fairly. The current Early Access version contains the first 32 hours of gameplay. The planned full version is stated to include over 50 hours, more than 140 enemies, over 180 equipment items, over 5 character classes, and over 40 collectible trading cards. The demo contains the first 6 hours, and saves can be transferred manually to the full version.

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition is presented around an unconventional story, characters, and soundtrack, while Yukina’s Diary uses a chapter-based diary narrative and a current 32-hour Early Access campaign. Back to the Dawn focuses on prison survival, investigation, crime, and escape, whereas Yukina’s Diary follows a heroine returning to a collapsing castle with companions from different backgrounds.
