Our take on YUKI Space Ranger
The game’s room-based combat makes physical movement part of the challenge, but that focus leaves less room for a conventional, stationary shooter experience. Its three modes offer different structures, while keeping combat and movement at the center.
What is YUKI Space Ranger?
YUKI is a VR shooter set in a child’s imagined anime universe, where players control a space ranger action figure.
Patrol Mode follows a storyline across imaginative worlds, with power-ups to collect and increasingly challenging levels. In Endless Mode, players take on continuing enemy waves and compete for leaderboard scores. MRcade Mode places threats around the player, including above, below and behind, and combines shooting with punches and uppercuts. Movement through the room is part of play: dodging obstacles and bullets, moving tactically and selecting power-up combinations all figure into surviving each wave. The game includes three modes, with MRcade focused on mixed-reality combat and Patrol focused on progression through the story.
