Our take on The Line
The presentation foregrounds awards and its role as a VR showcase, while the core experience lasts only 15–20 minutes. That short runtime places it closer to an interactive narrative vignette than a full-length adventure or simulation.
What is The Line?
The Line is a 15–20-minute VR interactive story about Pedro and Rosa, two figurines whose relationship is shaped by love and fear of change.
Set inside a miniature version of 1940s São Paulo, the experience uses physical interaction with the model: players turn knobs and move beneath machinery to reveal parts of the narrative. It is presented as a VR showcase for first-time users and includes narration in English, Portuguese, Korean, and simplified Chinese. Subtitles with SDH are available in English, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, and simplified Chinese. The experience received the 2020 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Innovation in Interactive Media and the Best VR Experience award at the 76th Venice International Film Festival.
