Our take on Yarimono
The defining mechanic is Cheat Tackle: the protagonist's partner acts first and defeats an opponent in one hit. It is limited to once per battle in standard play, while the lower-difficulty mode permits repeated use.
What is Yarimono?
Yarimono is a monster-taming RPG about a protagonist whose partner learns Cheat Tackle, a move that acts first and defeats an opponent in one hit.
The partner can use it once per battle, while the lower-difficulty mode allows repeated use. Progress involves collecting more than 150 Yarimon, battling wild creatures and trainers for experience, and assigning experience shards among preferred monsters. The journey includes trainer challenges, a championship goal, and an effort to complete the Yaridex monster encyclopedia. The protagonist also investigates hidden truths about the world after setting out on an adventure prompted by a childhood friend. Character presentation uses pixel art, illustrations, and multiple facial expressions.
How Yarimono plays
