Xuan-Yuan Sword V is a turn-based RPG set in Shanhai Jie, a mythic world based on the ancient Classic of Mountains and Seas.
The story follows Lu Chengxuan, who cannot control his unusual strength and enters this unfamiliar realm after being pursued by villagers. The journey uncovers connections among Shanhai Jie, the Yellow Emperor, and the Xuanyuan Sword while visiting more than ten distinct nations. Combat includes morale levels, personality-based reactions, and three formation groups: vanguard, rear guard, and reserves. Vanguard and rear-guard members can exchange positions during battle, while morale can alter combat behavior. Up to 14 companions can join the party, each with one of ten listed temperaments. The game is available only in Chinese.
