Our take on X-Blades
The game departs from a straightforward melee action structure by combining gunblade attacks, spell classes, acrobatic movement, RPG-style upgrades, and endings that change with player actions. Its colorful anime presentation also replaces a grounded fantasy approach with a more stylized spectacle.
What is X-Blades?
Play as Ayumi, a treasure hunter who fights monsters and boss enemies across around 40 magical indoor and outdoor settings.
Combat combines gunblades for close and ranged attacks with more than 25 types of magic, power-ups, leap combos, and skill upgrades gained through experience points. New weapons and outfits are also available. The game offers four difficulty modes, hidden power-ups, a statistics screen, and alternative endings determined by player actions.
