Our take on WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY®
The creature-stacking system gives battles and exploration a distinct structure, but it also makes party management central to the experience. Players who prefer direct combat with fixed party roles may find that customising and organising Mirages takes up more of the game’s attention.
What is WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY®?
WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY follows siblings Reynn and Lann through Grymoire as they try to recover their past and save the future.
Players capture creatures called Mirages, customise them, teach them abilities, evolve them into new forms, and arrange them in strategic stacks for battles. Mirage size and elemental combinations affect combat. Some Mirages also join the party in the field and provide ways to move across the landscape. Exploration includes vertically arranged dungeons where Mirages help overcome obstacles. The Maxima content adds Champions, additional Mirages, an Avatar Change system that lets Reynn and Lann fight as Champions, and bonus legendary creatures. The game combines a colourful, stylised world with characters and creatures from the FINAL FANTASY universe.
