SportsIs WizzBall worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR sports fans who want team matches rather than solo play
- Players who enjoy physics-based catching and throwing
- Groups seeking configurable broomstick matches with spell-based interference
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a solo campaign or a finished single-player mode may hit a wall because the stated tower-defense practice mode is planned rather than available.
- Players wanting a broad set of established modes may find the beta structure narrow, with the main focus on team matches and server configuration.
- Users without Rift Touch or Vive hardware cannot use the listed control platforms.
- Players who prefer non-VR sports games will not fit the required virtual-reality format.
Our take on WizzBall
The bounce point arrives at the match setup: this is built around VR team play, configurable player counts, and flight-speed settings. Anyone looking for a solo practice loop will reach the limit quickly, since the proposed tower-defense mode is not part of the current feature set.
What is WizzBall?
Wizard Ball is a team sports game for virtual reality on Rift Touch and Vive.
Players fly on broomsticks, pass a ball between teammates, and score goals while avoiding spells. Wands can stun opponents from close or long range. Matches end with the team that has scored the most goals. Physics-based ball handling includes catches and throws, while six degrees of freedom controls movement in the VR space. Server settings include team selection, maximum and minimum player counts, and a flight-speed multiplier. The game is in beta; the vendor identifies a single-player tower-defense practice mode as a planned feature.
How WizzBall plays
- 01Broomstick team matches
- Players cooperate to move the ball and finish with more goals than the opposing team.
- 02Spell-based disruption
- Wands can stun other players at both short and long range.
- 03Physics ball handling
- Catches and throws use physics-based control within six degrees of freedom.
- 04Custom server settings
- Hosts can configure team assignment, player-count requirements, maximum players, and flight speed.
