SimulationIs When Ski Lifts Go Wrong worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle players who want to design structures around physics-based challenges
- Simulation fans interested in managing building materials, budgets, and rope tensions
- Sports-game fans who want to control riders on courses they have built
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a detailed resort-management simulation may hit the limit of the building and budgeting systems.
- Players who want uninterrupted sports action may bounce off the construction-and-testing cycle between riding sections.
- Players who dislike experimentation may find repeated structure testing and physical failures frustrating.
- Players looking for a sports game without construction puzzles may not enjoy the campaign's focus on engineering.
Our take on When Ski Lifts Go Wrong
The bounce point is the structure-testing loop: designs must withstand rope tension and physical stresses, and failures can leave passengers in peril. Players who do not want to revise and retest their builds may hit a wall as the challenges grow more difficult.
What is When Ski Lifts Go Wrong?
This construction puzzle game follows a mountain resort engineer from rolling foothills to exposed peaks.
Build chairlifts, gondolas, jumps, bridges, ramps, and other structures while managing materials, budgets, rope tension, and structural stresses. Switch between build and simulation modes to test each design, then control skiers, snowboarders, motorbikes, and other riders across the terrain. The campaign includes more than 100 levels, bonus objectives, trophies, and online leaderboards, with difficulties ranging from simple green to extreme black. A sandbox level builder lets players create their own courses, and Steam Workshop offers community-made creations to test. Replays can be exported as GIF or MP4 files for sharing online.
How When Ski Lifts Go Wrong plays
- 01Physics construction puzzles
- Design mountain facilities while accounting for rope tension, structural forces, materials, and passenger safety.
- 02Rider control
- Take control of riders after construction and steer them across the terrain toward or away from peril.
- 03Sandbox level builder
- Create original courses once the slopes have been mastered.
- 04Community creations
- Test engineering skills against creations shared through Steam Workshop.
- 05Replay exporting
- Export replays as GIF or MP4 files for online sharing.
