Our take on Way of the Passive Fist
The first hurdle is the combat system: fights ask players to read enemy patterns and time parries or dodges. Arcade Mode adds another pressure point, since a run through the whole game uses limited lives.
What is Way of the Passive Fist?
Way of the Passive Fist is an arcade brawler set on Zircon V, a mining colony facing destruction as its star dies.
Players control the Wanderer, who uses the Passive Fist technique to deflect attacks and drain opponents’ stamina. Combat centers on studying enemy patterns and timing parries and dodges; consecutive defensive moves fill a meter that can be spent on super attacks. Fights award medals and XP for upgrades and new abilities.
Story Mode follows the Wanderer’s effort to confront tyranny and find answers amid disappearances and disorder. Arcade Mode runs through the whole game with limited lives. Gameplay settings let players set a named challenge level, and controls can be remapped for keyboard or controller play, including one-handed controller use or stick-only controls.
