- Linux or Windows players who prefer keyboard or gamepad controls
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a broad range of gameplay activities may find the continuous boss-fight structure narrow.
- Players who prefer low-pressure action may find the fast-paced bullet patterns and difficult bosses demanding.
- Players looking for complex controls may find the eight-direction movement and single-button action scheme restrictive.
Our take on Flatshot
The compact control scheme concentrates play on movement, timing, and projectile patterns, but leaves little room for a larger set of actions. Continuous boss encounters also trade slower changes of pace for repeated high-pressure fights.
What is Flatshot?
Flatshot is a minimalist bullet-hell shooter built around continuous boss encounters.
The player moves in eight directions and uses one action button to shoot, charge attacks, parry incoming hits, and perform a short invulnerable dash after a successful parry. Moving closer to an enemy increases damage, while taking a hit activates a shield that reduces damage from the next hits. The game replaces a traditional HUD with screen movement, sound effects, and color changes. A new background is generated whenever a game starts. Flatshot includes keyboard and gamepad support, an interactive tutorial, training, Steam achievements, global and friends rankings, saved replays, and replay viewing. It is available on Linux and Windows.
