Our take on vrAMP
The VR presentation focuses on surrounding music with visual effects, but that focus leaves music-library browsing outside the central workflow. External playback is supported, while the experience remains tied to headset use and a small set of playback controls.
What is vrAMP?
Play music in virtual reality with animated dust and light effects that respond to the selected track.
vrAMP includes a catalog of music and can also play audio from other programs or web browsers, including the Steam in-game browser, without moving music into another player. The experience supports HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, with Windows playback directed to the selected headset. Controls include play or stop, previous and next track, and a toggle for automatic effect transitions. By default, visual transitions change with the music; the transition control can freeze the current effect and resume automatic changes later. Musical Painting is available in beta, while other listed additions are described as future updates.
