Our take on Voidspire Tactics
Rather than using a familiar elf, orc, and goblin fantasy roster, the game places tactical turn-based combat in a setting without those species. Its abilities also cross the usual boundary between fighting and traversal, changing how the world can be navigated.
What is Voidspire Tactics?
Voidspire Tactics is a turn-based RPG focused on exploration, character progression, and tactical combat.
Players travel through a nonlinear world containing secrets while creating a party from four playable races and the listed archetypes of Warriors, Sorcerers, and Shiftcloaks. Progression includes up to 18 classes, more than 100 abilities to learn and upgrade, and over 50 passive abilities. Combat uses destructible terrain and elemental interactions, such as flooding a battlefield before striking with lightning. Abilities also work outside combat: freezing a river can create a crossing, while growing seeds into vines can provide a route up mountains. The fantasy setting excludes elves, orcs, and goblins. The combat is presented as accessible to beginners while offering depth for experienced players.
