Our take on Vegas Tales
Rather than centering on combat, exploration, or conventional quest progression, the game makes interviews its main activity. Players choose questions and follow-up topics, then may revisit candidates after learning secrets that change how their earlier answers read.
What is Vegas Tales?
Vegas Tales is an interactive interview game set at the Bellflower Casino Hotel in Las Vegas.
A terminally ill resort owner has no obvious heir, so the player questions a small group of candidates while pretending to research a book about the hotel. Questions and follow-up topics are selected from lists during conversations. The candidates have personal ties to the hotel, and some may have hidden information that changes how their answers are understood. The game contains 200 video clips, and one playthrough takes about as long as watching an average-length movie. Replaying lets players see multiple endings, discuss topics they have not covered, and interview candidates again after uncovering secrets. Cutscenes can be skipped by pressing S.
