Our take on VECTORLORD
The defining constraint is the save-file life system: lives are limited, each successive purchased life costs more, and lost lives can be reclaimed at the place where a character fell.
What is VECTORLORD?
VECTORLORD is a retro-styled shooter inspired by Genesis and DOS shareware games.
Players move between platforms, dash through incoming bullets, teleport, kick enemies, and use firearms and consumable items. Weapon power-ups can be paired to create hybrid weapons, while combos require active management. A shop offers upgrades, and players who die can return to where they fell to reclaim lost lives. Earlier levels can be replayed to gather resources, but enemies grow stronger over time. Each save file has a limited number of lives, and each successive life purchased costs more. Multiple difficulty settings are available, along with an option to reduce the neon glow for photosensitive players.
How VECTORLORD plays
- 01Hybrid weapon crafting
- Pair two weapon power-ups to create a combined weapon.
- 02Corpse-based recovery
- Returning to where a character fell can restore a lost life.
- 03Escalating replay levels
- Replaying earlier stages yields resources while enemies grow stronger over time.
- 04Limited save lives
- Running out of lives ends the game for that save file, and each successive purchased life costs more.
- 05Neon reduction option
- An option tones down the neon glow for photosensitive players.
