Our take on TRIGGERED
The one-life structure gives each movement and combat decision immediate weight, but it sacrifices continuity: a late mistake removes the current attempt and sends the player back to the beginning.
What is TRIGGERED?
TRIGGERED is a speed-running action game about escaping a mental hospital.
Each run requires reaching the end quickly while managing one life, one hit point, limited ammunition, and limited time. Death sends the run back to the beginning, with no checkpoints. Encounters include melee and ranged enemies, as well as bosses. Three difficulty levels change the challenge. Multiplayer support allows two-player cooperative play. Time and score leaderboards track run performance.
How TRIGGERED plays
- 01One-life runs
- A death resets progress to the start, with no checkpoints between sections.
- 02Resource limits
- Each attempt restricts health to one hit point and limits both ammunition and available time.
- 03Enemy variety
- Combat includes opponents that attack from close range or at a distance, plus boss encounters.
- 04Co-op multiplayer
- Two players can attempt the escape together.
- 05Run leaderboards
- Time and score rankings record performance across attempts.
TRIGGERED compared to similar games
SUPER CHICKEN JUMPER also combines running and shooting, but its description centers on jumping, dodging, and destroying enemies in a runner format. TRIGGERED instead focuses on escaping a mental hospital under one-life rules, limited ammunition and time, boss encounters, and optional two-player co-op. The other listed alternatives describe climbing, third-person shooting, metroidvania exploration, or multiplayer roguelite shooting rather than this specific speed-run structure.
