Our take on Unalive
Rather than using a fixed level sequence, Unalive builds its laboratory runs from randomized rooms and encounters. Its one-life structure also makes each run a single attempt, replacing the more forgiving retry loop found in many action-adventure games.
What is Unalive?
Unalive is an action-adventure roguelike set in a hidden laboratory where the player is the victim of an experiment.
The game uses randomly generated rooms, with random skill items to collect and use to improve abilities. Players fight bosses, encounter traps, and try to stay alive. Permadeath means each run allows only one chance: death ends that attempt. Boss encounters and room layouts are randomized, so the path through the laboratory can vary between runs. The setting centers on unknown experiments and their consequences, while play focuses on navigating rooms, building abilities through collected items, and surviving encounters.
