Our take on Trickery&Strategy
The game places historical strategy inside a wider system of state administration and personal intrigue. Battlefield decisions sit alongside population management, official appointments, court relationships, assassination threats, and plots against enemy commanders, rather than serving as the sole structure for expansion.
What is Trickery&Strategy?
Play as a newly crowned king during China’s Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods.
The game combines turn-based battles on a hexagonal world map with internal affairs, historical events, espionage, character stories, and court management. Armies use formations, morale, energy, armor, terrain, and specialized units including archers, chariots, scouts, and halberd soldiers. Tactical actions include ambushes, night attacks, fire, rockfalls, charges, and attacks that push enemies into water. Outside combat, appoint officials, manage population groups, taxes, food, materials, and military supplies, recruit advisers, develop the ruler’s abilities, accommodate door guests, and pursue plots against enemy commanders. Harem interactions, assassination attempts, and historical stories add further personal and political systems.
